Entirely Nursing
Entirely_Nursing is a portal to everything nursing from continuing education, clinical articles, certification, practice, policy, legislation, publications, nursing humor, books, employment, bulletin boards, schools, and much more...
It is our desire to have a site that can provide valuable information, instruction and just a fun place where Nurses can hang out!
Enjoy,

****When you're not adequately prepared to perform a task....
What happens if you're asked to do a task you haven't been taught to do? Performing a task that's beyond your skill level or knowledge is akin to practicing outside the scope of your practice - and if something goes wrong, the consequences could be severe. Even as a student, you'd be held to the same standard of care as a professional nurse, so you could face disciplinary action or be terminated from your program. Even worse, you harm a patient.
Although you should be willing to accept a new challenge, you need to ask for direct supervision and direction when circumstances require it. If you remain concerned about tasks you're asked to perform, speak to your clinical instructor or the director of your nursing program.
